Mission Statement

The River Bats intend to re-establish Baton Rouge as a prominent, professional baseball city. To achieve this goal we will rebuild the city's oldest professional baseball venue, Pete Goldsby Field. We will offer economical, family entertainment through quality baseball and provide aspiring players the opportunity to play at the professional level while honing their skills and showcasing their talent to major league organizations. We will partner with local and national businesses to further commerce and trade in the community, to facilitate our goals and assure the continuation of our organization and sponsors.
River Bats NewsThe 65th annual Baton Rouge Kids Baseball Clinic will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Pete Goldsby Field, home of the Baton Rouge Community College Baseball team. Registration for the clinic will begin at 7:30 AM and instructions will begin at 9:30 AM. The clinic is conducted by present and former professional baseball players and is free to school age kids. Participants will receive a free jambalaya dinner and free admission to the Baton Rouge Community College baseball game against Illinois Central Community College scheduled to be played at 2:00 PM.

BRCC Baseball Players Hunter Decell and Nicholas Jones were selected to the NJCAA Region 23, Division I All Conference Team. The team was selected in a vote by Miss/Lou League Coaches prior to the Conference Tournament held at Meridian CC. Decell was the leading hitter for BRCC and was named to the team as an infielder. Jones, selected as an outfielder, batted in the 3-hole and played right field for the Bears.
