David started his baseball career when the Minnesota Twins drafted him in the 28 th round during his senior year of high school, but did not sign. He played for the Sacramento City Junior College where he was apart of the 1999 California Junior College State Championship Team. David then moved to Louisiana to play for the LSU Tigers. There he was apart of the 2000 National Championship Team.
