Now a resident of Brusly, Louisiana, Chet went to McNeese University were he was All-Southland Conference twice. He was then drafted to the St. Louis Cardinals High Class A team, the Potomac Cannons. After spending three years in the majors Chet moved to the Northern League where he played for the Allentown ambassadors until coming down to Baton Rouge to play for the River Bats.
