In 1996 Chet was a member of the American Legion World Series Runner-Up team. During this season he pitched a complete game winning against Rowan County, North Carolina, 7-4. In college Chet was once again apart of a winning team. In 1998 Nicholls State made it to the NCAA Regionals before losing out at LSU. Since then Chet has traveled through the Northern League playing in the Catskill Cougars in 2000 and the St. Paul Saints in 2001 before ending up here with the River Bats in 2002.
